How do the anchors lock in place – in the hole?
Since they are expanding anchors, you’ll tighten them slightly in your hand until they fit snugly in the hole so they can grab the walls. Once the anchor is then inserted fully into the hole, the blue expansion plug can grip the sides of the Lock & Ride hole and as you further tighten the eye bolt (or knob). The anchor will expand, locking itself in place. Our competitors’ anchors with tapered or shallow 1″ plugs will loosen.
Are you the original aftermarket tie down anchor for the Lock and Ride™ holes?
Yes! We pioneered this design with the deeper-gripping, ribbed plug and sell more tie down anchors than all competitors – combined! We also are the only after-market anchor available that is patented.
What makes your anchor better?
We tested different materials and compounds for our rubber plug and over the years have perfected it. We also introduced the ribbed style anchor to the marketplace long ago in 2016. We do not use soft silicone or hard rubber. We use a proprietary blend of EPDM rubber that has a certain hardness on the “Shore A-Scale” for the ultimate holding capabilities. We also pioneered the deeper-gripping plugs which, on the RZR’s mushrooms out the bottom of the Lock and Ride™ holes making them virtually impossible to pull out, or in the Ranger and General give the plug much more surface area to grab the inside walls of the Lock and Ride™ holes.
What Polaris ATV’s and UTV’s do GripPRO anchors fit?
Our RZR line fits ALL sub-models and years of Polaris RZR, Sportsman and ACE (except 2013 and older Sportsman with 3/4” Lock and Ride™ holes) and the Ranger line fits ALL models and years Ranger and General. They also fit Polaris snowmobiles where 1” Lock and Ride™ holes are provided.
What else do they fit?
They are round and designed for the Polaris Lock and Ride™ holes but we have heard they work well on some CFMoto side-by-sides or Kawasaki SxS’s. No promises can be made beyond their intended use.
Are GripPRO anchors universal for all ATVs?
No. They fit round holes of 1” or 1-7/16” diameter for the Polaris Lock and Ride™ system. See the answer above also.
Do you make anchors with black or gray hardware?
Our anchors all have standard stainless steel or zinc plated finishes which is silver, or chrome-looking. Sometimes in the photos the hardware appears darker than it is.
What is the warranty and how does it work?
We stand behind all our products with a 100% lifetime satisfaction promise. If our anchors ever fail to perform to your satisfaction for any reason, contact us for a no-charge replacement. No fine print.
Are they easy to remove?
Yes. Just loosen the eyebolt or knob enough to decompress the plug, wiggle and pull.
Can these be disassembled and reassembled for custom installations or applications?
Yes! We have lots of customers adapting our anchors to specific applications for their needs. The threads we use are standard industry coarse 5/16”-18 UNC threads on nuts and bolts so they are easy to modify if desired.
Will these rust?
The components used are zinc-plated steel and 304 stainless. If left out in the elements or where they are constantly exposed to moisture or wet conditions, like anything else, yes, rust will form.
My anchor spins in the hole when I insert and turn it. What am I doing wrong?
Pre-tighten them in your hand slightly before insertion. Since they are expanding anchors, you’ll need to tighten them in your hand until they fit snugly in the hole. Once the anchor is then inserted fully into the hole, the blue expansion plug can grip the sides of the Lock & Ride hole as you further tighten the eye bolt (or knob). Then the anchor will expand, locking itself in place.
Are these made in the USA?
Our anchors are designed, tested, assembled and packaged here in the USA! Ninety percent of the components are USA-made like the rubber plug and eyebolt. The washers and nuts may be made outside the US like in Mexico or Taiwan. We are a US owned and operated small, family business.
Is GripPRO an American Company?
Absolutely! And all family members of the owner proudly take part in the creation and assembly of our anchor line!
Do they come in other colors?
They come in our proprietary original blue color with silver/steel hardware. Once installed, the blue plug is recessed in the mounting hole and not visible.
Can you separate the knob from the plug to hold down a rack or other flat things?
Yes. The knob is removed and anything you want to sandwich between the knob and washer will be locked in place on the machine once inserted into the mounting hole and tightened. Our customers get creative with these applications and your imagination is the only limit!
What flags can I attach with the GripPRO flag mount?
Most flags and springs fit our mount. The mount is provided with a 9/16” hole to accept most or all whips, springs and flags. See the specifics on the product page.
